Popular throughout most of the 19th Century, Paletots are an
extremely versatile garment that could be worn by nearly all
classes for nearly any occasion. They were worn from the
1840s-1890s. My single breasted paletot has sleeves, collar,
and lapels of a style fashionable in the 1860s. It has shaped
back and side pieces that give it a closer fit than the sack
coat. The coat is fully lined and has a quilted front panel.
There are two exterior waist pockets, an exterior breast
pocket, one interior breast pocket and comes with cloth
covered buttons.
